First Saturday lite

First Saturday returned to the Brooklyn Museum in May 2021! Our new version of the event- First Saturday Lite- is socially distanced and outdoors. Our May event highlights the prolific artist Lorraine O’Grady and her exhibition Both/And.

Tamar taught a free virtual art class for ages 4-8 and their caregivers every Tuesday and Thursday in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 at the Brooklyn Museum.

The Family and Community Department at the Brooklyn Museum created virtual mini art lessons inspired by the Brooklyn Museum’s collection for all ages! Get inspired by our collection and make your own art.

Early on in the pandemic, I was the lead for putting together a big community outreach event that invited families are invited to pick up their very own art backpack, filled with activities for children up to age 10. We featured socially distanced art activities, family-friendly music, and more, and gave away over 5,000 art kits to our community!
