Expedition to the City of Dion

An original interactive theatre piece and activities at the Onassis Cultural Center's City of Dion, God's and Mortals exhibition. Geared for children ages 6-10 and their families.

In 2016, I was commissioned to create an original theatre piece for kids and families centered around the City of Dion exhibition at the Onassis Cultural Center. The piece ran for 9 performances in Spring 2016.

In the show, The Expedition to the City of Dion, archaeologists call upon the help of children participants to help them figure out what the City of Dion in Ancient Greece was like! With the help of the Muse, Klio, participants are able to travel back in time to go on an unforgettable expedition.

A theatre piece geared at 3-5 year olds and their families

Discover how it feels to have the world at your fingertips.  Using physical theatre, interactive sensory experiences and original music, this show invites families to join the characters as they embark on a journey together using only the stars as their guide!

Taking Flight premiered at Belfast Baby Day in Northern Ireland on September 27th, 2015. It was the first large scale festival of arts for children ages 0-5 and we were honored to be a part of it!

Taking Flight was developed at the Educational Theatre program at City College by Tamar MacKay, Janette Martinez and Mari Martinez. It was workshopped in libraries and preschools across New York City and developed in consultation with prominent theatre for the very young artists.

Yuki and the Elephant

Yuki and the Elephant was a group devised piece for children ages 6-9 inspired by a Murakami short story. It was developed at the City College of New York and was presented at the Harlem Children's Theatre Festival. It toured schools in the Fall of 2013.

The largest zoo in Tokyo is shutting down, and the zookeeper and animals must cope with being sent to another zoo. What happens when an elephant goes missing?
