During my time at BAM, I had the opportunity to work on world-class Education Programs and events for schools and families, and helped BAM expand both their programming and their scope of operations.
We revamped BAMkids Film Festival during my tenure at BAM, and I was part of the team that expanded activities for families at the festival. Our vision for the festival included drop-in animation activities from Museum of Moving Image and local artists, one on one activities with teaching artists in the lobby, fun interactive pre-show experiences, performances (which included a magic show!), and more. I helped improve the system for receiving and screening films for the festival, and even had the opportunity to speak with a puppet for the BAMblog.
Other highlights included running pre and post-show discussions and Q&A for elementary students and families for performances and screenings, helping with workshops for programs such as BAMboo! and Puppets on Film, and creating new audience development surveys and inputting data with a team of four.
